Late last year, I attended an event in NYC with South Africa Constitutional Court Justices Edwin Cameron and Albie Sachs pertaining to the Constitutional Court Art Collection and a campaign to endow its preservation. In the following weeks, I was in a unique position to help raise some funds as well as suggesting coverage of the endeavor to the editors of SSRC’s African Futures Forum, the World Policy Institute’s Arts-Policy Nexus, and Contemporary&. The first piece, 20 Years Later – The Role of Art and Justice in South Africa’s Democracy has just been published on the SSRC site. The second piece is in the African art e-journal, Contemporary& (C&) under the title, Celebrating Transition from Apartheid to Democracy: The Constitutional Court Art Collection of South Africa. And, the third and final piece is featured in the Arts-Policy Nexus of the World Policy Institute under, Celebrating Transition: Apartheid to Democracy.
