This past weekend, a group of World Policy Institute (WPI) fellows and staff met at the Omi International Arts Center where the Arts-Policy Nexus hosted an intensive retreat to pull together related strands of WPI’s work into a project on ‘Human-centered design for urban resilience’ that we hope to do with ArchitectureOMI. Back to the city, my new freeDimensional colleague, Mary Ann DeVlieg planned a dinner w/ UN Special Rapporteur in the field of Cultural Rights, Farida Shaheed. Today, I got the chance to meet with two Brazilian artists hosted by Residency Unlimited, Maria Lynch and Rodrigo Braga, to discuss Lanchonete; and tomorrow is the first day of the ArteEast Conference, Arts and Culture in Transformative Times: Expanding the Philanthropic Dialogue on the Middle East and North Africa. Will someone please slow this city down!!!
