So honored that my friend Toni Lester has asked me to take part in the first reading of her play, Night Turns to Day this weekend. The reading is primarily for the community of Turning Point Social Services, but all are welcome. I’m reading the part of Peter.
Peter: Aaron’s 25, then 35 year old, white boyfriend. He is sincere and initially naive about race issues (in the way that only a self-identified “liberal” white person can sometimes be). He too is well educated, and world traveled.
We just finished the rehearsal, and there’s a line that reminded me of someone who recently passed. So, this is for you, Melvin.
Please come on Sunday if you’re around Brooklyn!
