Wearing my freeDimensional hat, I helped to facilitate the Crossfire Exhibit coming to QMA.  I’m moderating a talk w/ Shahidul on Sunday, April 15th at QMA.  Read the Crossfire Press Release.

Shahidul Alam will partner with Drik Picture Library and the Queens Museum of Art to use the “Crossfire” exhibit and accompanying interactive Google map to mobilize communities and gather international support to end state sponsored extra-judicial killings in Bangladesh. The project is co-funded by the Open Society Documentary Photography Project and Open Society Justice Initiative’s National Criminal Justice Reform program.

Project activities include: touring the exhibit to 64 districts in Bangladesh and the Queens Museum of Art in New York; organizing public forums; compiling data and case studies for a database to be housed on Banglarights.net; and collecting petitions. The goal is to inform vulnerable communities in Bangladesh of their rights, and to create a collaborative network of victim’s families, activists, lawyers, academics, students, media and human rights organizations, and the Bangladeshi diaspora community.
